I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Lordship's Despatch. Bit 11 of 5th January 1845, on the subject of the Postmaster of this Colony
The circumstance of Mr. Scales the late Postmaster's death, a few days after his suspension, from Cholera renders any observations upon the reasons for suspending him unnecessary, but as My Lordship the Publisher Biblicader l'ouvral seems to consider that the instances of neglect adduced in my former despatch, do not sufficiently establish the general incompetence of that Officer to the discharge of his duties.
